NOTE: This incense burner holder is to burn incense sticks inside.
If incense has a stick attached break the end or cut it off with scissors. Light the incense and place on top of the long black strip fireproof insulating mat. Before placing the incense stick on the fireproof mat, please make sure that the mat has the black top up and the pad is not sticking up and is smooth at the bottom of the burner. The incense stick should be placed directly in the middle of the fireproof pad. 
Do NOT place the incense on the side of the pad or touching the walls inside of the burner. It could possibly burn the wood and catch on fire. Please do NOT leave incense unattended while it is still burning.
